The announcement by Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas that he will vote for Donald Trump and urges others to do so, may be the final blow to any hopes of Republican fidelity to principle. This has been the practice of defeated candidates for decades, of course. But Mr. Cruz appeared different. He spoke at the National Convention about principle and voting ones conscience. He spoke about adherence to the Constitution. But apparently, with thoughts of 2020 in mind, he has abandoned all that rhetorical flourish in favor of political ambition. It may not be worth it. If Trump leads the party to electoral disaster, as he well may, Cruz would’ve been in position to pick up the pieces. Alas, he may have been the last man standing! Vote your conscience: Constitution Party – Darrell Castle for President!
